Shoot your arrows

And Elisha said to him, “Take a bow and some arrows.” So he took himself a bow and some arrows.

Then he said to the king of Israel, “Put your hand on the bow.” So he put his hand on it, and Elisha put his hands on the king’s hands.

And he said, “Open the east window”; and he opened it. Then Elisha said, “Shoot”; and he shot. And he said, “The arrow of the Lord’s deliverance and the arrow of deliverance from Syria; for you must strike the Syrians at Aphek till you have destroyed them.”

(2 Kings 13:15–17 NKJV)

What a phenomenal prophetic gesture!

Elisha gets the king of Israel, Joash, to reach into his quiver for an arrow, and to shoot that arrow through the east window of his room that he had opened.

As that arrow flew swiftly and silently through the air towards the camp of the enemy, Elisha prophesies; “The arrow of the Lord’s deliverance...”

I do believe that in like manner, God has given each of us a spiritual quiver full of arrows of deliverance.

In order for them to work, we have to reach into our own quiver and set the arrow to the bow and then shoot them with a faith and confidence in the Holy Ghost.

These arrows are promises and verses from the scriptures that the Holy Spirit has quickened to our own hearts, which we then speak by faith into the atmosphere.

And just like king Joash was entrusted by Elisha to discharge his own arrow, so too for you and me.

We cannot rely on anyone else to do what God has ordained for us to do. He has entrusted to us the responsibility to discharge our very own arrows of deliverance.

I want you to know that whatever you may be facing today, God is about to open an “east window” of opportunity for you to shoot your very own arrow of deliverance.

If there is one thing that I have learned when it comes to waging warfare, is that your enemy needs to hear your voice.

I want to encourage you, if your heart is full of faith and full of God’s Word, then open your mouth and shoot your arrow into the camp of the enemy.

Then stand back and watch your arrow fly swiftly and silently through the air and know that God’s deliverance is imminent. And what the enemy meant for harm, God will reverse and bring about your good!
