The Counselling department serves as a vital part of the supportive pastoral care service to members of Durban Christian Centre.  Our experienced pastoral care counsellors are equipped to assist with Counselling and prayer as well as to to to make referrals to appropriate health institutions i.e psychologists, social welfare etc.

Support Services

We offer free support groups for the following, all are welcome:

 

Free Support

Trauma Counselling: North Durban Victim Support on 0664838589.

Umhlanga & Netcare Units

Offer free support for Rape Victims

Suicide: SADAG ( South African Depression and Anxiety Group helpline.)

Free telephonic counselling, information, referrals and resources 7 days a week, 24 hours a day – call 0800 21 22 23, 0800 70 80 90 or 0800 456 789 or the Suicide Helpline 0800 567 567.

Open Door Crisis Centre:

They assist with counselling and psychometric testing - 031 7092679

Addictions and Substance abuse:

UKZN Psychology Clinic: For mental and psychological support if funds are limited.
