And He said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, hereafter you shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of Man.”(John 1:51 NKJV)

What a remarkable statement uttered by Jesus!

Nathaniel had proven to be very cynical at first when approached by Philip.

It was only when Jesus began to operate the gift of the word of knowledge concerning Nathaniel’s life, that he believed Jesus was the Son of God and the King of Israel.

Do you know friend, there are many more Nathaniel’s in the world today that are waiting for you and me to operate the gifts of the Spirit, just like Jesus did, thereby unlocking their hearts to receive Christ.

Jesus lived and walked under an open heaven.

When He was baptised at the river Jordan, the Scriptures declare that the heavens opened and the Holy Spirit descended upon Him in the form of a dove. (Luke 3:21-22)

Every miracle Jesus did, He did because He was reliant on the Holy Spirit and because He knew that He walked under an open heaven.

As believers, you and I have the same privilege.

We are walking under an open heaven and yes, we are blessed, highly favoured and walking in the abundance of God.

But you know, more than all of that, is the fact that we can manifest and demonstrate a living Christ to a lost and dying world.

The world is so sick and tired of dead religion!

They not only want to see and experience a loving and forgiving Saviour, but also a miracle working Saviour.

In John 14:12, Jesus said that we, who believe, would not only do the same works, but greater works than what He did.

Yes, the heavens are open.

But more than that, opened heavens operate and flow through a people who are yielded to the Spirit and ready to do whatever He bids them to do.

Are you ready, my friend, to allow the gifts of the Spirit to operate in your life?

After all, there are Nathaniel’s right now, waiting on you to bring Jesus to them.

I know they may be cynical, cautious and callous hearted, but then again they are the kind of people in whom God specialises in doing miracles.

Come on, let’s allow an open heaven to flow through us to unlock the hearts of the Nathaniel’s of our world.
