“What do you think about the Christ? Whose Son is He?” - Matthew 22:42
The person of the Lord Jesus Christ has been called into question through the centuries.
In the above scripture Jesus asks the question about himself, addressing it mainly to the Pharisees. Was He just another mystic or religious teacher or philosopher?
Today some people even go so far as to say that He never existed – how foolish. Every day you write the date you declare there was such a person for we refer to time as being before Christ and after Christ. He was looked upon in His day as the son of Joseph the carpenter, from Nazareth and even today is often referred to as Jesus of Nazareth.
He was born contrary to the law of nature, without a human father. He said that He came from God, His father, and God, Himself said, “This is My beloved Son in whom I am well pleased.”
No religious leader or teacher can be compared to Him. His life, His teachings, His miracles prove beyond doubt that He was the Christ, the Son of God.
When He died He laid His life down and gave Himself in death by crucifixion. His body was laid in a tomb with soldiers guarding His dead body. Three days later, early in the morning, angels came and rolled back the stone door to the tomb and Jesus rose from the dead. By this supernatural act He was, and is, declared to be the Son of God.
No other religious leader has been able to do this. He is declared to be the Son of God by the resurrection from the dead. There is no other way into the kingdom of God except through Jesus Christ. He is the way, the truth and the life. He said, “I am the door, by me, if any enter in they shall be saved.”
Trust Him completely today. He is the complete answer to all your needs for body, soul and spirit.
Dear heavenly Father thank You for Jesus my Saviour and Lord. Help me today to lift up Jesus wherever I may go and reveal Him through my life.
