“Again the kingdom of heaven is like a dragnet that was cast into the sea and gathered some of every kind, which, when it was full, they drew to shore; and they sat down and gathered the good into vessels, but threw the bad away. So it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come forth, separate the wicked from among the just, and cast them into the furnace of fire: There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.” - Matthew 13:47-50
Thus He, when spoken of in the Bible, always spoke of multitudes of people. The gospel of the kingdom is like a huge fishing net that is thrown out to catch fish in the sea of humanity. It nets many from every walk of life, young and old. It reaches out to all, regardless of status in life.
From the time Jesus called fishermen to follow Him and said, “Follow me and I will make you fishers of men”, the kingdom of God has been reaching out and men and women of God have been casting this net of the kingdom out to catch souls and bring them into the kingdom.
The final day of deciphering will come when the bad will be separated from the good.
There is a heaven to gain and a hell to shun - this is inescapable. The wicked will be cast into hell, with wailing, weeping and gnashing of teeth, and the just will be in Heaven.
What is my response to the gospel of the kingdom? Am I sure of my eternal destiny? What part am I playing in getting this great net out to bring in souls for the kingdom of God?
Dear Lord Jesus, I thank You today for the wonderful privilege to be a co-worker with You in casting out this great gospel net to gather in souls. Show me how I can be more effective for You in this great endeavour and by your grace I will do my part.
