Celebrated or Tolerated?

“You will surely say this proverb to Me, ‘Physician, heal yourself!’ Whatever we have heard done in Capernaum, do also here in Your country.” - Luke 4:23

Jesus found a barrage of opposition, as well as acceptance, wherever He went. There were those who readily received Him, believed and were healed. But others criticized and ridiculed Him. His fame had gone before Him as a miracle worker, a physician of renown, especially in Capernaum, where He had performed many notable miracles.

Despite being well known in His home town and the surrounding region where He grew up, He was merely tolerated, but when he visited Capernaum He was celebrated.

There is an openness and acceptance where you will be celebrated in certain areas, while merely tolerated in others. It is not the same wherever you go in this world. Why spend your life in a place where you are tolerated and will not be effective in your work for God. Find the place of acceptance in the will of God and fulfill a ministry of healing to those who are in need of the Good Physician whom you represent.

Reach out and heal some hurts, and minister to the needy right where you are today. You are His representative where you are. In some areas and places you will be more successful than in others, but even when rejected do not become despondent. Do not become weary in well doing, because your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

Be open to be led by the Holy Spirit to those who will receive the ministry that you bring them and open to the healing provided by Jesus through you. There are those who are waiting, hungry to receive words of hope and life that Jesus offers.

Dear heavenly Father, thank You for the opportunity today to be a co-worker with You in reaching out to those within my sphere who are in need of You, in Jesus name.
