Like the Teacher

“A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone who is perfectly trained will be like his teacher.” - Luke 6:40

It is possible, although some would question the fact, that you can and should be like Jesus, the Master teacher. That should be our main mission in life, to be like Him.

In 1 John 2:6 God says, “He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.” Further, in 1 John 4:17, He says, “Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgement; because as He is, so are we in this world.”

Jesus left us an example that we should follow In His footsteps. No matter how wonderful or great any man or woman may be, regardless of their achievements, we are to fix our lives upon Jesus Christ and follow His example only.

When we are born again we receive the nature of Christ within our spirits, therefore we have Christ in us, and the fruit that we manifest in our lives should be a demonstration of the Lord Jesus.

We can, and should, love like Him, live like Him, pray like Him, minister like Him and fully represent Him by being like Him on the earth. We can never, and should never, exalt ourselves to be better or above Him, but Jesus Himself said we can be like Him as the teacher, but not above Him.

A good question to ask yourself, when faced with situations which are difficult, and a decision must be made is, “What would Jesus do?  What would Jesus say in this situation? “

You will be helped to do the right thing and I urge you to become fully acquainted with Jesus by reading and re-reading the four Gospels – Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.

Dear heavenly Father thank You for the supreme example of Jesus, which has stood the test of time. Help me again today to be taught by Him and to be like Him.
