“If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” - Mark 9:23
A father brings his son to the disciples for help. The boy is suffering from convulsions and throws himself into the fire and into water and is in grave danger of killing himself. The disciples fail to set the boy free and it is left to Jesus to bring deliverance.
The father, when he is brought to Jesus, asks Him if he can do anything for his son to which He replied, “…all things are possible to him who believes.”
Of course nothing is impossible to God, however, do we really believe? It is a simple thing to say “Lord I believe”, but we know that the devil also believes and even trembles.
The Bible says that without faith we cannot please God, and simply to say, “I believe” is not enough, it should be much deeper than just mouthing words. There must be conviction and certainty that the author of miracles will perform a miracle on your behalf.
All that is really necessary is to believe with all your heart. If you can really believe with all your heart today, that miracle is on the way to you. It is our unbelief that stops our impossibilities becoming possibilities.
Become more determined than ever that you will not be guilty of unbelief. Your life should be always one of determined, steadfast faith. Doubt and unbelief, must be shunned. You must learn to speak and act as a believer, always filled with faith and always speaking life not death.
When the father heard Jesus’ response his faith shot sky high because after years of seeing his son tormented and tortured by demons he had found someone who promised help. The father’s simple response to Jesus was, “Lord I believe”. In that moment he received the miracle for his son.
Dear Heavenly Father, I come boldly to Your throne of grace today and thank You for the opportunity of going out into a lost world as a witness to your love and grace. Help me to live today and exercise faith in all that I am involved, in Jesus’ name.
