The Lord’s Donkey

“Go into the village opposite you and immediately you will find a donkey tied and a colt with her. Loose them and bring them to Me. And if anyone says anything to you, you shall say, ‘The Lord has need of them’ and immediately he will send them.” - Matthew 21:2, 3

Jesus says He needs a donkey, and a colt to be loosed and brought to Him for a purpose known to him alone. If objections are raised say, “The Lord has need of them.” Just an insignificant donkey, but Jesus has need of it to ride into Jerusalem.

The donkey is submissive to Him to allow Him to ride on its back and go where He desires it to go, on a mission known to Him alone. Jesus has need of you today to fulfil His will and to proclaim His Lordship. The donkey did not become the centre of attraction and praise, but the one it carried did.

We must be loosed from things that bind us to carry Jesus to our cities, towns, villages, nation and the world. He has need of us insignificant human beings to carry Him before a world that is in desperate need of help and healing.

He has not sent angels to do the job we are to do. We are to proclaim Jesus who is the supreme message and the answer to all needs. If fear binds you or any other form of bondage, then may you be loosed today to fulfil His call upon your life to carry Jesus to a needy world.

Dear heavenly Father I give thanks to You for Your love and privilege that I have to serve You. Today I shall be free from every bondage and entanglement to carry Jesus to a world steeped in darkness and to many who are struggling to find their way in this life.
