“Assuredly, I say to you that tax collectors and harlots enter the kingdom of God before you. For John came to you in the way of righteousness and you did not believe him; but tax collectors and harlots believed him; and when you saw it, you did not afterward relent and believe him.” - Matthew 21:31-32
Jesus says that sinners like tax collectors and harlots, who were frowned upon and despised, believed and entered the kingdom of God. They came under the authority of the King of Kings, received righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost. But there were those who did not believe and even when they saw others enter the kingdom of God they still did not believe the message that was preached.
Who can question the validity of a testimony of a changed life? You may not believe the message that was preached of God’s love, forgiveness and healing that is in Jesus, but then what do you do when you see transformed lives.
Like drug addicts, harlots, drunkards who are no longer involved in those sins are set free from addictions, full of joy, peace and living changed lives. Their lives speak about the transforming power of the gospel.
This is a powerful testimony of the truth of God’s word and God’s grace. These transformed, live to say to others, “the word of God works” when believed and obeyed.
This should cause many to concede and change their minds and also believe and enter into the Kingdom of God. Many do not read their Bibles but they read the lives of professing Christians. May our lives speak for Him in such a way that many will see a genuine change and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Dear heavenly Father I want to thank You for Your love and that You have brought me into your kingdom. Help me today to be a living witness to a changed life, in the name of the Lord Jesus.
