“And in whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.”
- Matthew 21:22
Jesus today tells us to ask for things in prayer. However, the “whatever” must be consistent with His will. We do not ask for things contrary to the will of God. If we ask according to His will He hears us and if we know He hears us then we have the request we have asked of Him.
As a loving father he delights in giving things to his children – the gift of eternal life is his will. He gives freely all things that pertain to godliness. He gives the Holy Spirit to those who ask, He gives healing and prosperity, for he has said “I will that you prosper and be in health even as your soul prospers”.
If that which you asked for is clearly His will then in prayer you can ask believing you will receive. When it comes to asking and believing for things, ask the question, is it necessary? Is it a greed or need?
If you are satisfied in your heart that having the thing you desire will be a blessing and help in the kingdom of God exercise your faith believing you shall receive it.
Make sure firstly that God hears your request. He does not hear us if we regard iniquity in our hearts; He does not hear us if we have pride, neither does he hear if we are rebellious, and if I disregard the poor. Make sure you know He hears you.
Dear heavenly Father please show me my heart like You see it, I do not want anything there that is not of You. Cleanse me through the blood of the Lord Jesus so that the attitude and desire of my heart shall be according
