Drowned by a Millstone

“But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were drowned in the depth of the sea.” - Matthew 18:6

In a television programme we were shown how easy it was to influence a little child and lure him away and abduct him. It is heartbreaking to read or hear about little children being taken and used in pornographic movies or being used in prostitution. Little children being abused and molested is intolerable and sadly even the clergy and famous pop stars are involved.

The way Jesus viewed it is interesting, for their judgement, surely, will be severe. It is better for them to have a millstone, which is large and heavy, to be hung around their necks and be thrown into the sea to drown.

God loves the sinner – even the paedophile, but he hates their sin. He hates it when little children are made to sin and be involved in that which defiles and robs them of their innocence and purity.

We pray for those who are perpetrators of such evil and trust God for their conversion to Christ. We pray for the little children that they will not be destroyed emotionally, mentally and physically but will also come to know the Lord Jesus and decide to serve Him with all their hearts.

Dear God and Father, be merciful to those who practice such evil and cause little children to sin. Convict and draw them by the power of the Holy Spirit. Place Your loving hand on the dear little children, and grant that they shall be preserved and come to the knowledge of the Lord Jesus.
