Leaving All for Jesus
“And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My name’s sake shall receive a hundredfold and inherit eternal life. But many who are first will be last, and the last first.” - Matthew 19:29-30
Jesus says to us today that serving Him will be costly. You may be called upon to leave all the material comforts that we are so accustomed to and relationships that are very dear to us.
Forsaking all in pursuit of Him will always be rewarding. Upon our dedication and allegiance to Him and our love for Him will determine a return of a hundredfold. No sacrifice is too great for Him and He will reward accordingly.
There have been many in history that have forsaken all to follow him and serve him and have been rewarded abundantly by Him.
The most important thing to understand today is that God looks at our hearts and as we think in our hearts so are we. Our position in eternity depends upon our relationship with Him here and now.
Do I place more value upon houses, land, money and family than on Him? He must be the centre of my life and affections, loving Him with all my heart, with all my soul and with all my strength. Let this be your pursuit today.
Dear heavenly Father I thank You in the name of the Lord Jesus for this day and all the opportunities of service that it holds. Help me to fulfil the desires of Your heart for me today and by Your grace I will do what You require of me.
