“Assuredly I say to you, that in the regeneration when the Son of Man sits on the throne of His glory, you who have followed Me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.” - Matthew 19:28
Today we are reminded by Jesus that there is going to be a judgement upon His return and when all things are made new. All power and authority has been given to Him and He will judge people and nations.
The throne mentioned in the book of Revelation is described as a great white throne; this is the throne of glory. Those who appear before Him will be judged according to their deeds done in the flesh while on earth which have been recorded in books.
One of the books, I believe, will be the Bible. What was our attitude to the word of God and did we live according to its revelation? The other book must be the book containing a record of what we did in this life and judgement will be made according to that record.
The final book will be the book of life in which are recorded all the names of those who have been born again. If a person’s name is not in this book then they will go into an eternity of separation from God and everlasting fire.
Jesus’ disciples will share in judging the tribes of Israel. This judgement will not be for the born again believer, but they will appear before Him also to be judged according to their works in the flesh.
Remember, we shall all appear before Him in judgement to give an account of our works here on earth.
Dear heavenly Father I thank You today for Your infinite mercy and grace and that the provision You have made for my body and soul is totally adequate. Please help me today to serve You with all my heart with total trust in You and that my deeds done in the flesh and recorded in heaven shall please You.
