“Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?” - Matthew 8:26
I am sure you would be afraid under the same circumstances that the disciples found themselves in; the howling wind, the waves crashing into their boat, struggling to bail out the water and trying to keep their boat afloat.
Jesus, however, was sleeping, completely composed and at rest in the seemingly dangerous situation. He was awakened by the distressing cry of his disciples “Lord save us, we are perishing.” He replied; “Why are you fearful, O you of little faith”.
Are you afraid today, fearful of your circumstances, fearful of your future, fearful of sickness, fearful of death? When Jesus stood up in the boat He spoke to the storm and there was a great calm so that the disciples were amazed, saying, “Who can this be that even the winds and the waves obey Him?”
Has a storm risen against you? Jesus can still stand against that storm - you cannot perish or fail. He says, “Peace, be still”, and there is a great calm. Fear and faith cannot flow together.
Faith dispels every fear. Don’t be faithless for with Christ in you, you cannot fail.
Dear Father in Jesus name I give You thanks for Your love and gentle care. Today, You have declared that Christ in me is the hope of glory and that greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world. Of whom shall I be afraid for You are with me and in me today?
