“Woman, you are loosed from your infirmity.” - Luke 13:12
She was not much in appearance, bowed down with an infirmity that caused her to stoop with obvious back trouble. She was bound, by a spirit of infirmity, she had lost her beauty - she had lost all hope no doubt. Because of her infirmity she had lost her strength and could not lift herself up to walk straight. She sat in the women’s section of the synagogue thinking that no one cared about her. Jesus, however, saw her, saw her desperate plight, and saw her hopeless condition.
He sees you today no matter what or how serious your situation may be. He sees not with an eye to harm or destroy, but in love and compassion. He called her to come to Him which is something that Jesus continues to do – calling people to Himself. He says, “Come to me all ye who labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest”.
He, who comes, He will in no way cast out. Before the final chapter of the Bible closes, the Spirit and the bride say come. He says come to me with your problems, your sickness, your disappointment and failures. Come just as you are and He will meet you at the point of your need.
The woman bound by the spirit of infirmity comes to Jesus looking down all the time. He lays His hand on her and suddenly there is a snap in her back and she straightens up and looks into the face of Jesus. She is loosed and completely free from the spirit that had bound her for many years.
No matter what the bondage is today Jesus can, and will set you free. Have you been bound and afraid to share your faith? Have you been bound by pain, suffering and sickness? Have you been bound by financial lack? Jesus today will touch you and set you free. Respond to His call; come just as you are with your desperate need. He will set you free in a moment of time.
Dear Lord Jesus thank You for Your concern for me and Your love that reaches out to me today. I believe You supply all my needs today for body and soul.
