Forgiving Others

“For if you forgive men their trespasses, your Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” - Matthew 6:14-15

The power of forgiveness is dynamic - you cannot afford spiritually not to forgive. I have seen scores of people instantly healed when they chose to forgive. Jesus also said, “When you stand praying, forgive”.

How can your prayers be answered if you do not forgive? To harbour resentment and unforgiveness is not hurting the one you do not forgive but it hurts you.

Jesus told how that a servant owed his fellow servant a mere pittance, but insisted on getting the money back, when he had been forgiven by the master to whom he owed much.

When the master heard of the man’s behaviour, he said, “Should you not have forgiven as I forgave”, and handed him to the torturers until he paid all. Jesus warned that similar judgement would befall those who do not forgive. When we do not forgive, we open the door for evil spirits to torment us. We will be free from them if we forgive.

“I can forgive, but I cannot forget, is only another way of saying, I will not forgive. Forgiveness ought to be like a cancelled cheque - torn in two, and burned up, so that it never can be shown against one.” - Henry Ward Beecher (Minister, author).

Dear Father today I choose to forgive everyone. I will not hold grudges, resentment or unforgiveness in my heart against anyone.   Thank You for Your forgiveness and the cleansing by the blood of the Lord Jesus.
