Forgiveness

“Forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.” - Matthew 6:12

If we forgive, He forgives. When God forgives, He forgets. Our sins are as far as the east is from the west. He holds no resentment, ill will or disapproval. He freely forgives us and therefore I cannot afford to walk in unforgiveness, holding grudges or hatred in my heart.

I must choose to forgive, regardless of what was said or done, I refuse to allow myself to be unforgiving, even if I feel I was right and others were wrong.

What was said was unjust, what was done was malicious and unkind. I choose, however, to forgive, because I desire to have God’s forgiveness. If I do not forgive, He does not forgive me. You may have to pick up the phone today and call someone you need to forgive, or write a letter. Make sure it is done because there will be no release, and no victory, until you do.

Sincere forgiveness isn't decorated with expectations that the other person apologise or changes in any way.  Just Love them and release them. It’s what God demands of you.

“To forgive is to set a prisoner free and discover the prisoner was you.” - Unknown

Dear Lord, I examine my heart before You, and I ask You to show me who, or what, I need to forgive. I choose to walk in forgiveness today. Thank You for Your forgiveness, and the cleansing of the precious blood of the Lord Jesus.
