“Just as you want men to do to you, you also do to them likewise.” – Luke 6:31
Someone said the other day that they had no friends. I replied, “But are you friendly to other people?”
There is a principle that exists in the earth and it is simply what you sow, you will reap. Sow anger and nastiness and you will get it right back in your face. Sow love, kindness, goodness peace and all the other attributes of the fruit of the Spirit then you will reap a harvest of contentment.
Be generous with your gifts, talents and your money, sowing at every opportunity. I love the following little story that captures the liberal heart.
In the days when a milkshake cost much less, a 10-year-old boy entered a tearoom and sat at a table. "How much is chocolate milkshake?" he asked.
"Fifty cents," replied the waitress. The little boy pulled his hand out of his pocket and studied the coins in it. "Well, how much is a plain dish of ice cream?" he inquired. By now more people were waiting for a table and the waitress was getting impatient.
"Thirty-five cents," she abruptly replied. The little boy again counted his coins. "I'll have the plain ice cream," he said.
The waitress brought the ice cream, put the bill on the table and walked away. The boy finished the ice cream, paid the cashier and left. When the waitress came back, she began to cry as she wiped down the table.
There, placed neatly beside the empty dish, were a 10-cent piece and a five-cent coin.
You see, he couldn't have the milkshake because he had to have enough left to leave her a tip.
Dear Father God, thank You for your generous love that You shower on me every day. Thank You for what You have sown into my life. Help me today to sow good seeds into the lives of all those I meet.
