Working of Miracles
“…for no one who works a miracle in My name can soon afterward speak evil of Me.”
- Mark 9:39
A miracle is something that is beyond the natural, it is supernatural. It is outside the ordinary. It is not something that can be called a natural phenomenon - it transcends the natural and can only be described as a miracle.
The Bible, from the first book of Genesis to the last book of Revelation, contains a record of many wonderful miracles. To God, what we call miraculous is ordinary.
God speaking the universe into existence was a miracle. Creation, despite the skeptics of some, is an incredible supernatural act.
And we cannot say the “days of miracles have passed”, because there never was a specified time when miracles would happen. They have always happened.
When God brought the people of Israel out of Egyptian bondage it was with a series of stupendous miracles. When they faced the barrier of the Red Sea, God made a path through the waters. When the children of Israel were faced with hunger God provided for them with food daily from heaven. When faced with thirst, God provided water from a rock. When they were faced with the impenetrable walls of Jericho they conquered the city by walking around the walls and when they gave a mighty shout the walls crumbled.
The Old Testament is packed with miracles of every kind and then when Jesus walked the earth miracles happened almost everyday. And so it was when the church was founded, signs, wonders and miracles followed the preaching of the gospel.
Miracles continue to happen today through the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
You may need a miracle today and do not doubt, the day of miracles never ceased. Your miracle is awaiting you.
Dear heavenly Father, I believe with all my heart that You are a miracle working God. Thank You for my miracle today, in the name of the Lord Jesus.
