The Supreme Leader

“All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.” - Matt. 28:18

There have been some mighty and powerful world rulers over the centuries. Hannibal made his mark in 200 BC when he invaded Rome. Genghis Khan was a mighty conqueror in the 13th century and in the 18th and 19th century Napoleon Bonaparte set out to conquer the world. In modern history we have seen the likes of Russia’s Joseph Stalin and Germany’s Adolf Hitler.

In their time in history they were regarded as powerful leaders, putting fear into all those that they defeated and placed under their authority. In most cases their success was based on cruelty and fear. They believed they were supermen who held the lives of tens of thousands in their hands.

Yet each one of them - every king, queen, prince, princess or grand ruler who has ever lived - will one day bow their knee and confess that Jesus is Lord to the glory of God. In fact, every person ever born into this earth will bow in submission to the One who holds supreme authority in the universe.

This is a great encouragement for us who have already submitted to the name of Jesus. Because your union with Him today puts you in a place of authority, giving you rule over all the power of the devil.

Paul, the apostle, said, “God has highly exalted Him and given Him a name that is above every name; and at the name of Jesus Christ every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that He is Lord to the Glory of God”. You are united with the highest and greatest power in the universe.

Having Christ within you, you have a champion. You are a winner today and an over-comer today. You have the greater One on the inside of you today to put you over and make you a success in everything that you do.

Dear Lord Jesus, You are Lord of all with all authority and power in heaven and on earth. I submit under Your authority and thank You for the authority that You have given to me.
