Don’t Fear

“But woe to those who are pregnant and to those with nursing babies in those days! And pray that your flight may not be in winter or on the Sabbath.” - Matthew 24:19-20

Jesus’ word for today shows His concern for our safety. There is impending danger with the Roman soldiers invading, killing and destroying all in their path, leading to the demise of Israel as a sovereign nation. His prophecy warns of disaster, but also shows God’s concern for people, desiring that they escape the tragedy.

Jesus says that God has not given you a spirit of fear but of love, power and a sound mind. As we approach the end of this age and the return of the Lord Jesus, as it was then so shall it be just prior to the return of the Lord Jesus. There will be wars, famine, earthquakes and times of great trouble and unrest, as predicted by Jesus.

With uncertainty in the Middle East the Arab nations will finally consolidate with support from a super power and come up against Israel which is going to result in the final and greatest conflict of the ages.

Reading the news, or watching it on television, or hearing it on radio, may make you afraid, but why be afraid?  Your safety is assured in the Lord Jesus Christ. He will keep those in peace whose minds are stayed on Him. As long as you are sure you are in the perfect will of God you will be totally safe.

Young Daniel was perfectly safe in the lion’s den. The four Hebrew men were safe in the fiery furnace. You are safe in Christ with your life hid in Him and in God.

Dear heavenly Father, thank You for the safety I have in You, I know You cannot fail and there is no fear in love. I am wrapped securely in Your love, in the name of the Lord Jesus
