“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.” - John 14:1-3
Jesus gives us wonderful assurance that those who believe and have put their faith in God, through Him, will share eternity with Him.
Who can ever imagine what the Father’s house is really like? Paul, the apostle had a sneak preview that he shares in his letter to the Corinthians. Unfortunately, what he saw was so overwhelming that he could not find words to describe it for us.
John, in the book of Revelation, tries his best to give us a glimpse of God’s realm. He saw myriads of angelic beings, and thousands upon thousands from every nation on earth before the throne of God.
The walls are exquisitely beautiful made of different precious stones. The streets are pure gold. There is scintillating beauty everywhere. It is difficult even to begin to imagine what it is going to be like.
Some very impressive Cathedrals, palaces and high rise buildings have been constructed in cities over the ages.
People raved about the beauty and splendour of the Taj Mahal in India and many of the Cathedrals of Europe are magnificent monuments built to glorify God. The Sistine Chapel with its priceless paintings and statues was an attempt to honour the majesty of God. The temple that King Solomon built in Old Testament days was a wonder of its time.
Yet none of these can compare with what God has in store for us. It is a place He has especially prepared for us. He has promised He will return for us so that we shall share these mansions with Him throughout eternity.
Dear Lord Jesus, thank You for Your promise to come again and take me to where You are in heaven. Thank You for joy, peace and majesty that awaits me in heaven. Help me to tell someone today about Jesus.
