How to see God

“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.” - Matthew 5:8

No man has seen God at any time and it was believed that if you did you would die. Moses desired to see God and was directed to a cave where God would pass by and he would see the back of God.

Jesus says, “If we are pure we shall see God but without holiness no man shall see God”. The purity required is not something you can work up, manufacture yourself, or profess a purity that is self-righteousness. An outward show will not qualify to see God.

The issues of life flow from the heart so it is vital that the thoughts of my heart are safeguarded, and I endeavour to maintain a pure heart at all times.

We are reminded of Psalm 24:3: “Who shall go up into the mountains of the Lord? Alternatively, who shall stand in His holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not lifted himself up to falsehood or to what is false, nor sworn deceitfully. He shall, receive blessing from the Lord, and righteousness from the God of His salvation.”

Dear Lord I believe that you will help me walk in purity, and to effect holiness in Your fear. I surrender my will, my emotions, and my thinking to You. I will love You with all my heart, with my entire mind, with all my soul, knowing that you will keep me in perfect peace as my mind is stayed on you.
