Don’t Make Believe

“For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law, till all is fulfilled.” - Matthew 5:18

Napoleon Bonaparte made an insightful remark during his conquest of Europe: “Few really believe. The most only believe that they believe or even make believe.”

His remark wasn’t aimed specifically at Christians, but it could well have meaning to many who call themselves believers.

We should never doubt the Word of God, which is forever established. Your Bible is a miracle. It does not contain the word of God - it is the word of God. You, therefore, can act upon it and be fully assured that it will never fail you.

There is a sunrise and a sunset, a beginning and an ending, but the word of God is from everlasting to everlasting - it endures forever.

Never minimise the power and authority of God’s word. Much of the prophetic word has already been fulfilled so all that has been prophesied that has not yet been fulfilled shall come to pass, every jot, every tittle, shall be fulfilled.

The well-known American evangelist F.F. Bosworth used to say: “Believe your beliefs and doubt your doubts.”

Dear Lord, thank You for Your word and the power thereof, help me to bind your word in my heart and flesh it out in my life today. Forgive me my doubts and let me anchor of life in Your word.
