“If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.” - John 15:7
Living in Jesus and His word, being a living reality in your life is of vital importance. Today, hear Jesus once again, emphasizing dwelling in Him, and His words dwelling in you. By living your life with the continual awareness of His abiding presence within you, and His word having predominance will result in what will seem to be amazing answers to prayer.
Jesus says you will ask what you desire. This, in itself, seems unbelievable that you can simply ask for “whatever you desire” and it shall be done for you.
There is, though a big but…what are those desires and how do they line up with the word Of God?
Paul says in II Timothy 3:6 that there are those who are led away by various evil desires. On the other hand “the desires of the righteous brings only good”. Psalm 37:4, says, “Delight yourself also in the Lord; and He will give you the desires and secret petitions of your heart”.
We all have desires, but they must go under the microscope of the word. We must check that our desires are not worldly or selfish personal interests.
Praying for money just because you want to drive around in a new motor car every six months and spend it unwisely is not going to glorify God.
Always keep in mind that God’s number one priority is the winning of the lost. This is the cause for which Jesus gave His life and the Father is glorified. Heaven rejoices every time just one person’s name is written in the Lamb’s book of life.
The more time you spend with God the more you will be in tune with the heart of God. You may be surprised how your desires change as you align more and more with God’s perfect will for your life.
Dear heavenly Father, thank You for Your word that shall never pass away and I know that you will help me daily to allow Your word to dwell in me richly. Help me to pray and ask according to your will, in Jesus name.
