“A certain man gave a great supper and invited many, and sent his servant at supper time to say to those who were invited, ‘Come, for all things are now ready.’” - Luke 14:16-17
“There was a man” Jesus said, who he was we do not know, whether real or fictitious, but it is obvious that He is referring to Himself, who gives the great supper. It is called “The Marriage Supper of the Lamb”. He is the bridegroom and the bride is His church. He will come for His bride and present her to His Father as a bride without spot or blemish.
The Holy Spirit has been at work on earth drawing, inviting and convicting people in order to get them into the Church (the Bride) to be ready for the great supper.
It is indeed a pleasure to be one of the invited guests at a wedding, but the main attraction is always the bride and the bridegroom.
What an exciting moment it will be to be part of the bride, to celebrate the marriage supper of the Lord Jesus and to spend eternity with Him.
The invitation is clear, no one is excluded, young, old, rich or poor they are all part of the “whosoever”, who accept Christ as their personal Saviour.
Of course we can accept or reject the invitation. There is only one condition: you need a wedding garment, which is the robe of righteousness, given to you by God when you were born again.
Dear heavenly Father, thank You for Your faithfulness, goodness and wonderful love in giving us an invitation to be in the bride of Christ and to be at that great marriage supper.
