Seek the Kingdom

“And do not seek what you should eat or what you should drink, nor have an anxious mind. For all these things the nations of the world seek after, and your Father knows that you need these things. But seek the kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added to you.” - Luke 12:29-31

Dawn is breaking. It is a new day. The birds are chirping and calling to each other and together they create their own symphony of praise to their Creator.  They are about their daily task of finding water to drink and food to eat. It’s what they do each day.

For survival we need to eat and drink, these are necessities of life, and God knows that they are. For any one of us to feed the birds of the world would cost a fortune, yet He feeds them all.

Unfortunately we can become very anxious about life’s necessities and wonder whether God can really provide our daily bread.

Jesus says to you today, “do not have an anxious mind” about material things such as food, clothing, housing, transport, and much more. Our Father knows we have need of things. Most people, Jesus says, are seeking things, but life does not consist of the things you possess.

The kingdom of God endures forever for He is the Kingdom, the Power and the Glory forever and ever. If he rules within our lives there is evidence of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost. Giving the kingdom of God the first place in your life will result in all your needs being supplied.

Dear heavenly Father, thank You for giving me clear explicit direction regarding the priority of things in my life. Help me always to put your kingdom first and trust You for my daily provision of the necessities of life, in Jesus name.
